I have several email accounts (who hasn't). In the accounts toolbar they seem to be forever stuck in the order I added them to thunderbird. Correct me if I just haven't found any existing way to rearrange them.

Anyhow, it should be possible to drag and rearrange them on the spot, so that I can easily put my actual most used accounts on top.

I also agree. I have wanted this feature for a long time. The main reason to use Thunderbird is you can manage multiple emails. Please also kudo my idea if you want to add built-in highlight text function in Thunderbird.

You open the account settings and drag the accounts into the order you want them displayed in the main reading view.

@tornuggla, did you attempt this in Account Settings?

There rare reports of reordering failing to work. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1870527 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1866668

If you mean reordering from the dashboard instead of in the Account Settings page, a similar proposal has already been deferred. See -
