Date line separation in Card View

I like the new card view in Thunderbird.  I was using Windows Mail App which they are discontinuing, but what I liked about their card view was each day had a separator line with the date in it, and then the emails in card view for that day below. See photo as an example.

You can add a sort bug option from the primary menu bar (F10) that displayed the date line for the past week,  then a last week list and then "older"

View > Sport by > Date and then repeat to set it to sort by instead of threaded or unthreaded.

Thanks, Grouped by Sort does sort by Today, Last 7 days, Last 14 Days, Older.

However it also seems to collapse those groupings each time you switch to another folder and then go back to the folder.

I just replied saying the Grouped by Sort resulted in collapsed groupings - I forgot to add the Expand all Threads (I don't use thread view) but that keeps the groups opened.  So thanks, it gets me part-way to my ideal solution. I'd still like to see a day-by-day grouping, and the group header by day only needs to be half the size instead of its current size of the same as a message card.
