When I compose a new email with Thunderbird, I can "Customize From Address". That's fine.
When I compose a reply, it would be appropriate to automatically customize the from address, to the address the mail I am replying to was sent.

Example:
I ordered something at webshop.com and put an email address in my profile there: "webshopper@mydomain.com". That way, when webshop.com (or their associates) send me an email, they send it to "webshopper@mydomain.com" . When I reply to that mail, I am replying as "myrealname@mydomain.com". I now have to manually customize the from address to be "webshopper@mydomain.com". That should be the default behavior. Thanks.

This is a standard feature of thunderbird.

On Account Settings, select ¨Reply from this identity when delivery headers match:" and enter the domain.

Not quite intuitive, but yeah.

That is not quite the same. In my case I have at least a hundred differents addresses I use. For each website a different one. My 'real' email address is : username@example.com

When creating accounts on different websites, I would use shop@username.example.com, shop2@username.example.com etc.

It would be very cumbersome to create identities for all of those. All I want is that in case of replying, TB changes the sender address to the one it was sent to, e.g. shop2@username.example.com . My email provider allows this. Very handy for filtering and keeping track of data breaches.

When I receive an email at  shop2@username.example.com , and reply, it should imho default behaviour that TB uses shop2@username.example.com  as the sender address.

There were add-ons for this, but for me it is no longer working in TB 128.4.3 and they seem to be abondened. Now I have to manually type the sender address every time I reply.
