Thunderbird emails and Firefox shut down

HELLO

New email user and happy with the email program. Not sure that it syncs well with gmail. In any event there should be a notification that if you inadvertantly  close FF it should say "Do you wish to close the program". I find that while reading emails and closing them I end up at the top right closing the entire FF. So a notification on main tab top right would avoid having to reload FF.
