Thunderbird should add an option where you can click a button to unsubscribe to the selected mailing list. Gmail has this option and it is very helpful.

Agree.   Also needs to work on emails in a foreign language.   Someone got my credit card and email address and subscribed me to hundreds of listservers, so i got bombarded with emails.   But lots of them were in French or Italian or lots of various other languages.    I had to copy/paste many of the emails into google translate to figure out which links were for unsubscribing.
