task bar icon font and size

I have a 27" monitor and am having issues reading the fonts in the taskbar and the area above. I would be very grateful if there were a mechanism to easily change both icon and font sizes. I think this issue has been raised before but somehow hasn't attracted programmer interest...

Hi:

I wholeheartedly second that suggestion. I have been orphaned by Postbox having sold out, and Thunderbird seems to be the most rational alternative. Alas, the tiny sizes in the entire Thunderbird UI and the lack of options to change them decidedly make Thunderbird a no-go zone for my aged eyesight 😞  Do you guys think you will be miracles of the medical science and not have to become sparing to your eyes?

I have the problem of barely being able to read the task bar and have found no way of making it any bigger and glasses (2 pairs) don't help
