yes, "there" are extensions but i think that such base functions must be - native

also it is important that such function must have option to assign custom hotkey on it.

FYI: You can assign custom hotkeys for addon if the developer has made those available. ref. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-extension-shortcuts-firefox

The addon you linked doesn't seem to have a shortcut set, so i'd suggest you try and contact the developer and  ask if he can add one.
