Remove Unused Feature: Menu Bar

Hi,

Whenever I accidentally press the Alt key, I am surprised that FireFox still retains the menu bar. No other major browser has the menu bar any longer and I, for one, don't ever use it. I guess many others don't, either. I believe you could make FireFox leaner, more resource efficient, and improve it's performance, if you removed the menu bar altogether. Anyway, I don't see any purpose to keeping it, especially since the side menu practically contains all of its options and actions. JMTC.

I think the alt key bar is useful and it's helped me on several occasions. It is a relatively universal predictable and navigable reference menu and I doubt it uses any background resources. Furthermore it is now hidden and doesn't use any screen real estate. That Firefox retains this for computer literate windows users is a major plus as far as I am concerned!

I always thought this to be an accessability feature ... removing this would definitly make the life of many people more difficult, so i would say this is a pretty bad idea.

No, shouldn't be removed.  I use it all the time.  There's been enough negative changes made to Firefox as it is.

I'm oldschool and I still use the menu bar every day. To put it lightly, I would be very, very unhappy if Firefox removed it as a feature.

However, I think it would be a good compromise to allow users to disable the menu bar. Firefox's customizability sets it apart from other browsers these days, and I think having more options like this is generally a good thing.
