Provide the option of having the newest open tab to be the last tab on the right in the row of tabs.

I love being able to "Open Link in New Tab."  However, frequently the FireFox user may have many open tabs squished together and when the newest open tab is opened and appears somewhere in the middle of all the other open tabs, it's hard to find the newest tab.  I would like to have the option of having the newest open tab added at the end of the row of open tabs so that it's easier to find.

It's tricky because different people want it to work differently.

Firefox has the concept of related tabs -- which open next to the tab where a link was clicked -- and unrelated tabs -- which open at the end of the bar. There is a pair of hidden settings to control that behavior. It would be convenient to have these on the Settings/Preferences page in the Tabs section in the future. I'll mention the hidden settings for now in case you want to experiment with them:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.tabs.insert and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Firefox should list two preferences matching this pattern:

• browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent - by default, this is set to false, so unrelated tabs open at the end of the bar
• browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent - by default, this is set to true, so related tabs open adjacent to the current tab

If you prefer to change the behavior, double-click a preference (or click the toggle button at the right end of the row) to switch its value between true and false.
