Status: New idea

I know Mozilla has been branching out into other services recently and I thought that it would be great if you all offered a privacy-focused online calendar, email and instant messaging service similar to what's offered for Apple's iCloud users. I would certainly pay $20-50 a year for such a service.

There is a calendar in thunderbird. Mozilla haves a own messaging server for element. Mozilla and the thunderbird team were talking about a email provider but we never got a answer that they are gonna work on it.

I just wanted to agree with this one and even take it a step further in that mozilla could implement their own mail service and it could also use DIME which is what Lavabit has developed. https://github.com/lavabit/magma This would allow Mozilla to not only implement a mail service but one in which things were end to end encrypted. This would be huge for privacy afficionados like I think mozilla is.

Another option would be to implement a version that is based off signal. They are well respected when it comes to privacy and this would allow you to implement a way to securely pass emails in a E2EE way.
