I love the way that microsoft edge handles download options... they are compact, don't really get in the way and the design is very good...
(when you have the setting turned on) if you are starting to download a file, edge puts the download in the upper-right corner and display three buttons: open, save and save as (the save button is pointlessly hidden behind a downward arrow)
the options don't get in the way so you can still continue to browse and queue more downloads and then save them from the menu or cancel those which you don't want...
note: the open option saves the file in a temporary directory and it's deleted automatically afterwards
