I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox.

I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard.

for the love of GOD when I finally switched from chrome to firefox again after years I missed the tab grouping feature so much its unbelievable, my browser is a mess without that.

Hello
well, I still support having native functionality because
durability is more secure (normally!)
easier to use for beginners who won't take the time to find an addon and will switch to chrome 😞 or other

ALTERNATIVE

Nevertheless, while waiting for an integration (similar to what I propose), see a super awesome addon and more powerful than the smaller solution of chrome or others

YES! Please? Just adding my vote for the Chromium style of tab grouping (in Chrome and now Edge also).

It just makes sense, is super easy to use, and keeps all your tabs both handy, organized, and out of the way when not needed without lots of extra clicking around and going to tab manager UIs.

Tab group

We need the option to open in new tab in group instead of only new tab for links

I also support a Chrome-like tab-grouping interface. I have a huge tab problem and tab grouping would make it so much easier to handle my pack-rat-enhanced ADHD tab problem.

I stopped using Firefox as my primary browser due to the lack of native tab group implementation, as it's so crucial to my workflow. I'll gladly return when it's implemented.

Even though I've never used this feature on another browser, it sounds incredibly useful, and I can see why so many people want Firefox to have it. I absolutely think Mozilla should implement it.

I also think that tab grouping is a crucial feature, and the fact that there are so many replies on this thread means there is big interest in having such a feature.

Of course, Firefox was one of the first to have this feature, but unfortunately it was removed. Now, it's Chromium-based browsers that have good implementations for this feature (Grouping in Chrome, Brave, Edge) but also Vivaldi has implemented tab stacking.

Please consider bringing tab grouping/stacking to Firefox again!

Seriously though, it's been 1.5 years and you didn't even deliver the PiP controls, but delivered extensions popup (I don't get why though, customizable overflow button was okay, could just expand it with needed labels for manifest 3), the Firefox View (which is kinda neat, but I never click on it, I'd rather have that in a new tab), and file auto download (though there was no problem, there was a "don't ask again" checkbox).

Is it that bad on your side?

Unhappily, I have to say I going to use Chrome. I have using Firefox for years and I don't like Chorme, because it is uggly and Google seems to have no whim, but we must agree: Chrome is faster and - mostly - it has tab groups! For God sake! We are asking tab groups for more than one year!!! Seems nobody cares. Nobody didn't nothing about that in one year (!) I really work with a huge number of tabs. I really like Firefox, but I can't work with this limitation any more. It's sad.

How the UI works can be debated but a native feature for mobile needs to exist, as mobiles extension support is so limited.

I also would prefer not to use the Brave style but a menu for example in the "v" tab menu instead.

Wow Firefox Panorama really was awesome. Seems insanely complex for me, but really modern! Wtf happened Mozilla?
