Status: New idea

My idea is when the hub is first accessed, it joins automatically with a default username and avatar, so the user is in the hub straightaway. Details can be changed later. When refreshed, I should not click join with my name and avatar again, but restore the previous session and location.

Hello @Joshua! Thank you for your continued feedback and ideas.

Reducing attrition during entry for new users is an important consideration. We are currently exploring an idea like this in our demo room which has most features for interaction disabled (everything except for emojis). We are considering removing the display name and avatar selection panel from the entry-flow in this "locked-down" demo.

For most users wanting to have social exchange and interaction in more public rooms, we do believe that being able to select display name and avatar before entering is important to create agency for users to choose how they are represented. I would love to hear more about your use case and what kind of users you are hoping to reach!

Thanks!
