Status: New idea

Hi I have a lot of bookmarks with a lot of sub folders and it is really frustating to have to switch the window everytime. I currently have my browser and the bookmark window next to each other in split screen. I would love if you could manage bookmarks in a tab on the current window to make navigation easier.

Alongside that, Id love it if I could open a specific folder instead of it going to other bookmarks and me having to click through everything again.

Bonjour,

Je souhaites vivement aussi de pouvoir gérer les favoris dans un nouvel onglet, je ne comprends pas pourquoi ce n'est pas le cas.

Good morning,

I also really want to be able to manage favorites in a new tab, I don't understand why this isn't the case.

Open Bookmarks Library in a tab (not a new window)

It is efficient and helpful to have the Bookmarks Library open in a tab (not a new window).

Enter chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml into the Location Bar, then bookmark that tab.

i know there's an option to use chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml,

but this functionality should be the default, and the keyboard shortcuts and menu options should open the library in a new tab and not in a separate window. Come on Firefox, its not 2005 anymore.

@Jon this is a great idea! Switching between windows for bookmark management is tedious, especially when you have a folder structure.

The URI:

chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml

Is read-only, so you can't use it to edit, add, delete, or move folders and links.  Basically, you can't use that link to 'Organize' your bookmarks.  So, the above commenters should verify that their advice is valid, before they passing it off.
