Hi

I'm a web developeder. Main apps for browsing and email the past 20 years have been FF and TB.

I'm using this gadget in FF that shows viewport width (the little ruler icon top right in developer window) for responsiveness. What bugs the crap out of me is that it's now way to make the measurement(s) stay in the browser window. When working for an hour, I need to re-launch the measuring (i.e. click the ruler icon) at least 20-30 times.

Can you please fix an option to make it stick until I select to hide it?

(Hope you understand what I mean. Not english spoken)

Cheers
Dan

What do you mean by "way to make the measurement(s) stay in the browser window"?

Hi

Meaning that the small, small window that appears top right in main FF window (the window that's showing the website) after clicking the ruler and showing width and height in pixels (i.e. "the measurements"). See image in link.

I want this little window remain there when I resize the window or open a new window, e.g. with another site. Stay there until I again click the ruler icon in the developer window. As of now, this little measurement window top right disappears (randomly?) all the time. I'd like it to stay there for hours if I chose to.

Hope I explained better.

Cheers

I see, thank you for the additional context and screenshot!

I created a feature request in our bug tracking system

One more question, why do you need to see the size if the page isn't changing its size? (i.e. the window is not being resized) You could just set the size and than expect that it's the same...

Also, slightly unrelated, but starting Firefox 130, we'll display the size of the viewport on reload, which might help (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1826409)

Honza!

When working, mainly with css, I'm manually resizing window all the time to see when and where content changes and editing styles accordingly. I can also have the site up in additional windows and/or tabs, and occasionally open another site in the same window/tab, etc, etc, etc. There are several dozens of common situations where the little "measure window" disappears.

nchevobbe!

Thanks. Looking forward. Any idea when the release is? And what MacOS versions that requires?

Cheers, both!
