Firefox multiple execution.. multiplayer

reason to suggest. idea.

I use a sandbox when I need to access unstable sites.
Because it increases the risk of getting a virus or being hacked.
therefore
Either using Firefox Portable.
But unfortunately at this time I can't use two Firefox and one has to close.

Current Firefox doesn't have a sandbox feature and prevents multi-running.

So it's a bit frustrating.

In the case of half-named Chrome, multiple executions are possible even with similar browsers.

If it is not running the exact same process path, it will run.

My guess is that it's because of Firefox security.

I have a desire to multi-run.

I will not give up on the sandbox.

And I don't want to give up Firefox either.

I prefer Firefox over Chrome browser.

So my conclusion.

It would be nice to have a sandbox portable feature or to have multiple executions.
It is inconvenient to have to terminate the process every time.

Hi, when you compare Chrome, do you mean using the "Person" feature to start a separate instance with its own settings? In Firefox, these are called profiles and unfortunately there isn't a convenient toolbar button to access them, you have to get there in a roundabout way...

About Profiles page

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it. Feel free to bookmark this if you might visit often.

Setting up a New Profile (One-Time Process)

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sandbox, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Launching a New Instance (When Needed)

Scroll down to Sandbox and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) in your default profile should not be affected.) To avoid crossing over data with your regular profile, do not connect Sandbox to your Firefox Account.

Configure as desired and test as needed.

When you are done, you can close the extra window without exiting your regular Firefox profile.

I am running Windows 7 Pro and Firefox on my i7 Dell laptop. Using Windows Task Manager, I became aware that Firefox has multiple "Firefox.exe" running at the same time. People talk about Firefox having 8 versions running at the same time, but it is now running 11 versions and even with only 2 or 3 tabs in use, Task Manager shows that there are over 20 versions running at the same time, and even up to 28 to 30 on occasion. As my laptop is not new and only has 12gigs of ram, this really slows down the computer since some of the versions use a lot of memory. So I often go into Task Manager to empty the huge number of Firefox.exe's, since Firefox doesn't or is very slow to do so if I close down Firefox.

My desktop was doing the same thing even with 16 gigs of RAM, but it died after 12 years as it won't boot up now and just hangs, unless in Safe mode. I now have an i9 Desktop with Win11, but it is not fun trying to get it up and functional the way I want it. I am tired of people having supposed "Solutions", but when I try to do the same thing, commands aren't where they are supposed to be.
