Hello Firefox Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I a new Firefox user now and have noticed some areas for improvement in the spell checker and add-on dictionaries. While the current spell checker does a decent job at detecting spelling errors, I have found that it could be more accurate. Additionally, the add-on dictionaries seem to be limited in providing suggestions for correcting identified errors.

I would like to propose an enhancement that leverages the power of the internet and AI technology to enhance the spell check feature. My suggestion is to integrate the spell checker with online resources such as AI-powered dictionaries to provide more accurate and relevant suggestions for correcting spelling errors. By tapping into the vast resources available online, Firefox could significantly improve the auto-correction and suggestion capabilities of the spell checker.

While having offline dictionaries installed is beneficial, incorporating online resources for suggestions could greatly enhance the overall user experience. I believe that this approach would not only improve the accuracy of spell checking but also make the correction process more efficient and effective for users.

I appreciate your consideration of this enhancement request and look forward to seeing potential improvements in future Firefox updates. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards

Why tap into online AIs making an already bad problem worse, when it's just as simple to connect to an already available, normal, non-AI-powered, dictionary?

A textbox where enough stuff is being written that it would require adequate spellchecking is likely to contain private or identifiable information, or other points of data that can be used to harvest information from the user, and most AIs tend to require lots more information than simply one word to process, anyway.
