Status: New idea

Being able to customize the toolbar in the desktop version is a great feature, we should be able to do the same in the Android version. For instance, I would like to remove the home button, which I never use, and add the refresh button, which I use all the time. Yes, there's limited room, but it should be up to us to decide.

This is (in theory) an easy option that would improve user experience a lot. The Home Button seems very redundant when tapping on the Address Bar brings up the home screen anyway.

'uBlock Origin' on toolbar would be awesome. Having quick access to uBlock Origin would make it easier to manage my browsing experience. Currently it takes 3 clicks/taps to open uBO window and it opens in a separate custom tab. mock-up uBO on toolbar.jpg

OMG yes. It's also an accessibility issue.

As an older person whose vision isn't as good as 20something UX designers having a in-your face button that lets me quickly change font size is the reason Samsung Internet is my default browser. (I know I can change the font with a couple taps in Firefox but I find I use this button on Samsung Internet on every web page so it's a killer feature to me.)

Better yet is how Google Messages resizes and reflows text as you pinch.

Make the toolbar customizable in Firefox Mobile

In particular, let us replace the “Home” button in the middle of the toolbar with the “Find in Page” button.

(A way to re-order buttons on the toolbar, as is available in the desktop version of Firefox, would also be nice.)

allow toolbar customization in the app

This goes somewhat along with a previous idea someone made about customizing the home page, except that I am requesting for the toolbar in the app to be customizable. It makes me absolutely crazy all the clicking I have to do every time I want to open a bookmark or reading list item. For some reason, perhaps because I don't have a huge phone screen, any time I open the menu I have to scroll up to the buttons I actually use, then click click click. Please let me rearrange the buttons on the toolbar, and let me add at least 1 tab that quick-takes me to at least one of the tabs in the menu of the history/bookmarks/reading list.

I don't care much for a customizable tool/address bar. While it sounds like a neat idea, realistically, I think it'd take more effort than it's worth to develop. I really wish I could disable the "home" button, though. I never use it, so it's just a waste of valuable space. Even being able to read more of the URL would be better than having the home button.

All that said, I believe many users (me included) would likely benefit from a better address bar. I am once again suggesting that developers take a look at what Vivaldi is doing, even if only for the sake of inspiration. Their design has a "sidebar" button that enables you to quickly access and interact with bookmarks, history, notes (not saying that FF needs those), a translator, and downloads, all without having to "leave" the current webpage or fiddle with menus (fewer taps required for most actions).

fffffff great points! I hope they are taken into account. Vivaldi looks like a great browser!

With uBlock origin easily available in the toolbar this would finally put and end to Chrome for me.
