Currently, to open a QR code you have opened on your browser, you have to get another device to scan it and open it.

I would suggest a QR code scanner that is built in to Firefox so that you don't have to get your smartphone to scan the code and share the site to your desktop. An implementation would preferably work similar to the screenshot tool/be integrated into it. Additionally, I'd like to see it working on PDF files.

Idea for generating a QR code: Include a QR code generator

Addendum

I looked through some Addons and the closest I came to how I would envision it is this implementation https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/scan-qr-code/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_mediu...

The add-on opens up from the left click options and allows, on webpages, to mark an area in which it scans for qr codes. This functionality (and additionally being able to use it on PDF files) would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe my fingers are too large, but when I'm typing in or correcting a URL, I almost always end up hitting the QR Code reader. Does it have to be stationary right at the end of the address bar?

I would really like it if I could move it somewhere else or have it on the main (3 Dots) menu.

Great browserThank you!

Making moves

I think this would be a great idea.

It could allow you to scan them from either your webcam, from a webpage, a file or just anyone on your screen.

If it were to be added, it could be place with the `More tools` menu in Firefox's drop down.

It would be nice if QR codes were usable on laptops and desktops in addition to phones.
