Firefox's drop-down "history" menu needs right-click tab-open functionality.

I'd say: same with the Bookmarks menu.

For now, you probably know that the tricks for links in web pages do work on those menus:

  • Ctrl+click => new tab (on Mac, I assume it's Command+click)
  • Middle-click with the mouse wheel => new tab
  • Shift+click => new window
