There should be an option (it'd make sense as a default imo) to show site favicons instead of page thumbnails in the tab list view on Android. I've always found the thumbnails to be unhelpful in this form factor because they're so crunched-down to the point of illegibility. You can maybe loosely tell the type of webpage it is, and if it's dark theme?

This would free up space in the tab list—you could make the items smaller, reducing the need for scrolling. That's sort of the point of the list mode, eh? May be a small performance bump, too.

I don't know if the iOS tabs page has a 'list' mode as well and how it functions, but presumably such an option would be added over there as well.

Thanks for your time!

It looks like the "synced tabs" menu already functions like this, so that could be blueprint for implementing this.

I'd also like to add that this FR is doubly important for the private tab list!! Folks might not want the content of their private tabs to be visible at-a-glance.

I actually checked and was surprised to see that the list of private tabs is still screenshot-protected when that feature is active, so at least it's not a security oversight.

(Kudos to the dev team!)
