The Thunderbird Global Search is great. I have many email accounts and folders and do not always remember where an email is located, so for me, Global Search is much faster than Classic Search.

I suppose faceted search may be useful if something is misspelled or you do not remember the tense. More often than not, I want an exact match search, not one where multiple words are included.

Please add the functionality of double quotes or other method to do an exact match search in Global Search.

Thank you

Right now using double quotes doesn't even require the faceted terms to appear in the specified order; they seem to do nothing.

Bumoing this old thread as it seems nothing has improved. Just trying to search my 5-6 e-mail accounts for the company that supplied LOGS for my heating a couple of years ago. Absolutely infuriated with the global search matching LOG, with over 1000 hits. I have tried putting the search term in quotes, it makes no difference. From my perspective the lack of a decent search facility is a real nuisance in an e-mail client.

Very strongly agree. Trying to find an email where I emailed our wills to someone. Good luck finding "wills" when the search is helpfully including every email that ever has the word "will" in it.
