It would be nice to add search engine detection for some Chinese websites, like how Firefox detects Youtube search, Amazon search and allows users to add these search engines into search options with one click.

For example,

  1. https://www.bilibili.com/
  2. https://www.jd.com/
  3. https://www.taobao.com/

The way Firefox detects these websites is through information that is posted on the website itself (called "OpenSearch"). If the website posts it, and it is valid, then Firefox can use it to provide a search engine offering to the user.

On https://www.bilibili.com/ and https://www.taobao.com/ you can right-click and select "Add a keyword for this search". If you then provide a keyword (e.g. bilibili), you can then type in the address bar something like "bilibili mysearchterm". Unfortunately this doesn't yet create a search engine (it is called a bookmark keyword), but we would like to modify it to do that in future.

More information on bookmark keywords can be found here: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-search-from-address-bar#w_add-a-smart-keyword-for-search
