Tabs closing when opening a attachement in email

Occasionally, the tab with my email client opened will close when I download/open an attachment in an email.

Is this an issue with Firefox? or with my email client (AOL mail)?

I have the same problem.  Every time I download an attachment, the tab goes AWOL soon thereafter.
