I believe what could help here is just having a small vertical line between each tab so it can act as a separator, that way you could actually distinguish one tab from the other.

I believe this is not possible at all.Edge can do that since it's also based on Chromium, which is the basis of Google Chrome.Firefox is its own separate thing, so likely impossible or very hard to do.
