Thunderbird: spam folder enumeration of contents

Hi, it would be convenient if the Spam folders showed the number of their unread contents. Their behaviour would then be similar to that of other folders. The interesting thing is that they DO show the number of unread contents only after I open the folder, which is of not much use.

It can, and does, happen that I miss an expected email because I rarely think of checking those folders.

You can already fix this problem by yourself:
Rightclick on your spam folder -> "Properties" -> in the tab "General Information" -> "When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder" has to be ticked/activated to solve this problem. I assume that this option was not activated.
