Add official support to casting to an Android or Apple TV, right now you have to use sketchy extension, it's not a good user experience.

I'd love to see official casting support added to Firefox! Right now, the only reason I keep Chrome around is for casting. It's a bit like the “pass the butter” scene from Rick and Morty – my Chromium browser's only purpose is casting media.

Adding casting support would finally break the perpetual cycle of switching back and forth between Chrome and Firefox for so many of us.

For a lot of us, casting is a key feature we need in a browser. Let's make this happen, Mozilla!

Mozilla to be able to cast to my TV from the browser.

Hello, I would love to see Mozilla be able to cast to my TV from the browser. I see it has been brought up many times before and I would like to know what we need to make it happen. Thank you

Anycast and even Steam Link support would be appreciated.

Well, since we are throwing different protocols around:

Matter Casting is a thing as well and it's open source.

Though it remains to be seen how the adoption of the tech will be. Amazon is first big company using it in their Fire TV products. I assume others will follow suit.

Matter Casting support is probably not the highest priority right now but maybe Firefox could help push this open protocol. I hope it's on Mozilla's radar at least.

@rogue-agent Steam Link is entirely unrelated to any of this, I would maybe make a new thread if that's something you're interested in to see if there's any traction, but as of now Steam Link isn't available in ANY browser.

I can't see Valve opening it up to browsers at the moment either tbh, it's already really neatly integrated into Steam, and has decent mobile/TV apps. If a system is running Firefox, there's a solid chance it's capable of installing and utilizing Steam to use Steam Link.

If there is any issue with patents, why Mozilla foundation is not starting a lawsuit for monopoly abuse to Google?

Literaly many users use Chrome just because they feel more confortable watching videos knowing they can move from the computer to the TV at any time. Google is using that to perjuice other web browsers like Firefox and force the people to use Chrome or the Chromium Engine browsers.

+1. Although, I doubt it will ever happen any time soon unfortunately.
