Hi Firefox Team,

I've been using Firefox Nightly for the past week, and I absolutely love the vertical tabs and sidebar features. The ability to have an AI chatbot and some extensions at the bottom of the sidebar is super convenient.

However, one thing I really miss from my time using Edge is the ability to pin certain websites, like Instagram or Reddit, to the sidebar. It was great for quickly scrolling through social media while working on my main tabs. Right now, I don't see an option to do this in Firefox Nightly, and I think adding a simple "+" button to pin certain websites in the sidebar would be a fantastic addition.

It would make multitasking even better and enhance the overall browsing experience. I hope you consider adding this feature in a future update!

Thanks for all the great work. Looking forward to seeing how Firefox evolves!

Hi!

Thank you for kind feedback!

We've wanted to invest in "sidebar pins" for a while and it's one of the next large items on our roadmap, but it's a fairly large chunk of work.

Let's perhaps see whether other folks chime in here on the usefulness of the sidebar pins, as it will help us advocate for this work internally.

Making Pinned Tab in New sidebar

In version 136, firefox have side new sidebar. Right now it just have ai, sync tab, history and bookmark. My idea is if sidebar active, pinned tab can be removed from top bar and included to sidebar.

I've spent hours trying to figure out if there’s a way to pin websites to the sidebar, but realized it wasn't possible. Really wish this was a thing!

I’d love to be able to keep the top tab bar for unpinned tabs and have all my pinned tabs in the sidebar instead. It’d make tab management easier (for me at least since I have quite a few pinned tabs).

I also like the idea of keeping some extensions at the bottom of the sidebar. It would be great to have a 'Pin to Sidebar' option alongside the existing 'Pin to Toolbar' feature.

Hope this gets considered!!
