i have switched from chrome since past 1 month and firefox is just better. the only thing i did not find easy is the option for having multiple profiles to be used at ease, could be better if there was one to easily access seperate profiles for work and home

I would like to switch to Firefox, but without a separation for my profiles, it's a not really possible. On chrome, I use 6 profiles for work, private and other projects. Firefox is a really nice browser, but this features is stopping me from switching to Firefox.

I am yet another person who wants to switch to Firefox but the lack of easy profile switching is unfortunately a dealbreaker for me. I really hope that making a more user-friendly experience is under consideration.

It would be great to have this feature.

I would like it if one can see it by the icon, which window belongs to which profile, and that the operating system groups all windows, which belong to one profile, into one group. One could add for example the first letter of the profile name to the icon.
Also it would be nice if the profiles are each registered in the operating system as a separate browser, so that you can open a link in the correct profile of the browser. This is for the feature of launching the browser with a link from outside the browser. You could launch the browser with the link that you want to launch it with and in the profile that you want to launch it in.
Also, as others have already said, it should be easier to open a profile. A menu entry for profiles would suffice for this.
And it should be possible to have at least two profiles open at the same time.

Not having a 1click way to change between my many work and home profiles is exactly why I use chrome more than firefox. Any complex workflow developer or employee requires it these days.

It's inconvenient to frequently switch between my work profile and my leisure profile, or use both profiles simultaneously, on Firefox. I'd like to exclusively use Firefox for both profiles (basically I want to run two instances of Firefox), but since there's no way that I'm aware of to create desktop shortcuts for each profile, I have no choice but to use Firefox for one profile and Chrome for my other profile.

user-interface that labels different profiles and allows easy switching between them

my use of web-browser relies heavily on the use of profiles. I keep using Google Chrome because it gives me functional use of profiles by allowing me to apply a visual label and color to the browser window and offering a profile-menu that lets me visually pick from existing profiles. If I could do this in Firefox, I would use Firefox instead.

This is a feature I'd love to see done. Currently switching between profiles is just not very user friendly. There's a number of reasons I need multiple profiles. One of which is being able to sign into the same extension with different accounts, switching from the about:profiles page isn't exactly seamless.

I completely agree with browsing200 comment I also used to use Firefox for my personal browsing and Microsoft Edge for work. I would love to use Firefox for both my needs, but the lack of profile switching ease makes me don't want to quit using two browsers. And I for sure don't want to use Chrome.

So please, let us have an easy way to separate Firefox with Profile A from Profile B in the taskbar of Windows. Thanks

Assim como no Edge ou Chrome. Que permite ter várias contas ou perfis. Realmente sinto falta desta função.

Just like in Edge or Chrome. Which allows you to have multiple accounts or profiles. I really miss this role.

One more vote for this.  It's one of the features stopping me from switching from Chrome.

This is a much needed feature.

May chrome users I know stick to it because of this. I recommend the Profile Switcher Add-on to them which allows switching to other profiles after you open Fx. But not when you launch Fx, it just opens the default profile.

I use Ubuntu linux and personally I just create new launchers for each profile.

1. Launch firefox profile chooser from terminal using  firefox -p  and create different profile I'll need. e.g. personal, work, study, etc.

2. User an app like Menu Editor or create .desktop file to create launcher.

The command to launch 'work' profile would then be:  firefox -p work

3. For the most frequently used profiles I also create custom keyboard shortcut.

Not as easy as chrome, but it's a one time thing, so it's ok going through all that tinkering. But I'd love to see this included in firefox by default.

Thanks @jasiralavi but I don't give a crap anymore, I found Opera GX, has lots of features that I wanted in a Browser, it lacks some good ones from FF, but already suggest them, I'm just gonna push for them and even if I don't get them from Opera maybe a Chromium Add-On will be added at some point, haven't searched its add-on repository yet, yet I'll stick with Opera GX as it gives great advantages, including default Dark theme natively, improving videos and images with sharpening: on YouTube 480p looks like better than 720p, and 720p better than 1080p, I can use less bandwidth and have even sharper frames, same for images: the default mid sharpening improves image clarity; Faster  browser, Sending to mobile is super fast coordination, just disable the Dark theme for QR sync and put Dark Theme back on, imbedded social media, Tab Islands are on their way, so I'll be golden. Rust makes FF slow and Mozilla turns out to be a fake Non-Profit earning lots of money yet is a mediocre browser; so I gave FF a good chance, over ultra-slow/dead Netscape 64-bit development, but makes no sense now, so good riddance FireFox
