New tab on mobile

I wish when I opened the mobile app, it wouldn’t automatically open a new tab. A lot of the time I’m using the app for the same sites, so sometimes I’ll end up with ten tabs open of the same site because I want to go to the same place but forget that I already have it open in another tab. I want to at least have the option to toggle that off. Thanks!

A Switch in "Settings > Tabs" could be added so that Firefox warns us if a Tab containing the exact same address is already opened, perhaps as a dialog or "pop-up" with the option to switch instead to the opened tab, or continue opening a new one.

Alternatively, the dialog could be bypassed entirely and the switch would allow to directly send the User to the previously opened tab...

@risxra There is a setting to make it so that Firefox opens up on the last tab you were on, go to Settings > Homepage > Last Tab -- does that help?

@S2000 if you enter a URL that is already open, Firefox offers you to switch to that tab on the search suggestion screen, it might be below the fold/keyboard so you have to scroll a little which isn't ideal but this gives users the opportunity to switch to the existing tab or open a new one
