Thanks for the feature suggestion! While this isn't an AI solution, Thunderbird's existing Template feature serves as partial solution. Maybe that can reduce the repetitive manual replying you're currently doing?
I think a feature like this should be considered to keep offline clients like Thunderbird competitive with Web Apps like GMAIL and Microsoft 365 (they will all offer a similar functionality).
Would be nice if such AI plugin/add-on could choose from an existing set of templates and use them as an initial reply to a customer automatically without me having to that.
I use ThunderAI but it lacks in that it still needs a human to open, read, comprehend, decide and choose an appropriate action for a message. Quite a workload if you ask me, despite using both templates and quicktext templates.
I looked for an addon that could comprehend messages and decide an outcome (filter applied, response used) or reply based on some text-written knowledge base, but there's no such thing I know of. Or is there?
With ThunderAI you could write your own prompt to draft a reply directly using any additional knwoledge base you need. You could even use additional information from the email using the data placeholders.
You could also ask for additional text to be added to the prompt if you need to add custom instruction for that execution only, using the {%additional_text%} placeholder.
