Dear [Browser Developer Team],

As a dedicated user of your browser, I am writing to express my strong support for the addition of a second sidebar. This feature would greatly improve my overall browsing experience and provide me with more flexibility and convenience.

Having the ability to open multiple sources of information simultaneously in a second sidebar would allow me to easily compare data, reference material, and switch between tasks with ease. This would save me time and increase my productivity, as I would no longer have to constantly switch between tabs.

Furthermore, the addition of a second sidebar would also benefit the add-ons I use on a daily basis. With the ability to utilize the second sidebar, add-ons would be able to provide me with even more tools and resources, such as translation tools, news feeds, and social media widgets, in a convenient and streamlined manner.

I believe that the addition of a second sidebar would be a valuable addition to your browser and would greatly enhance the user experience. I urge you to consider implementing this feature in future updates.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

While we wait for Firefox to (hopefully) implement a proper sidebar, you can achieve somewhat similar functionality with this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/webpage-sidebar/ .

There are issues, mainly, the fact that when you open a link from inside the sidebar, it opens outside the sidebar and you have to copy and paste that link into the sidebar to continue browsing in sidebar. But, it might help some people.

I'm sticking to Floorp right now, only because it has proper working sidebar like Edge.

@albertjohn3038The webpage-sidebar extension is nice. Its working but not as expected. I'll love to see the proper working sidebar like Edge in Firefox in the near future.

Thanks for your comment, regards.

Especially with the addition of AI Assistant this seems more important then ever, given that also eats up the sidebar.

TST + AI Assistant would be such an awesome browsing experience, on my laptop but especially on my ultrawide monitor!

Same here, TST user who just managed to set up the AI Chatbot lab feature with a local setup (Open WebUI with LM Studio as backend) and it all works, but having to switch between the sidebars that don't even have keyboard shortcuts mostly defeats the purpose.

So I'd also like to ask for multiple sidebars, i.e. as many on each side as the user wants.

The shortcut for the AI chatbot panel will be available in in Nightly very shortly - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1905027

@asafkooh that's great! Do I understand right from the Bugzilla conversation that it will be a toggle so it will be possible to return to Tree Style Tab or whatever other sidebar was open previously?

Making moves

I doubt that this feature will be implemented in the next couple of years, so I decided to create my own userChrome.js script for adding a second sidebar with web panels to Firefox.

If you also missed it, please install and bring feedback

@aminoughtincredible implementation of the Firefox second sidebar!!! Just amazing!!! Congratulations.

Just couple of questions:

1.- Is there a way to apply zoom on the second sidebar content??? Just to zoom in or zoom out the webpage on the second sidebar.

2.- Is there a way to modify the icon on the sidebar to easily identify the added webpages?

Regards, and thanks again! Really appreciate it!
