The one killer feature Safari on a Mac has that keeps me from fully embracing Firefox is its integration with Messages for two factor security codes sent via text. In Safari, you don't have to jump over to Messages to copy and comeback to paste the code into the field. A box drops down under the field you can click on to autofill the code right there on the webpage.

Does Firefox have this ability somewhere or are there plans to add it soon? I seem to have read that Apple allows third party apps to add this integration since Big Sur.

Very keen on this feature, I do NOT want to need Safari

@autigers1970

Did you ever find a solution?

I like to stay within the Apple eco-system as much as possible, but since Safari doesn't allow bookmark/favorites management like Firefox does, I need to give it up.

The 3rd party add-on mentioned in this threat sounds interesting, but the link to it at the8-bit[.]com/macos-third-party-2fa-autofill/ brings me to the page shown here.

Is there a particular add-on you have found that works?

@JonDid you get any feedback from the development team? This would be a very useful feature! I hope that the strategy isn't to kick the can down the road until SMS 2FA becomes obsolete because unfortunately that may take a very long time by the look of things.
