Hi folks,
In the next few days, we will start the Nightly experiment which provides easy access to AI services from the sidebar. This functionality is entirely optional, and it’s there to see if it’s a helpful addition to Firefox. It is not built into any core functionality and needs to be turned on by you to see it.
If you want to try the experiment, activate it via Nightly Settings > Firefox Labs (please see full instructions here).
We’d love to hear your feedback once you try out the feature, and we’re open to all your ideas and thoughts, whether it’s small tweaks to the current experience or big, creative suggestions that could boost your productivity and make accessing your favorite tools and services in Firefox even easier.
Thanks so much for helping us improve Firefox!

Now that Orbit has been released, why not integrate that into this feature? It's the only imho that even makes to integrate that tightly if you're really trying to be privacy respecting

Please don't add any kind of AI to your browser, i love firefox but this is making me way less interested in it and might just switch to some other browsers if AI keeps getting shoved into it. NO AI, PLEASE.

AI chatbots are ethically and morally wrong. This should not be an "opt-out" feature. If anything, it should be an "opt-in" feature or even a plugin so that it can be easily uninstalled.

It is not a helpful addition to Firefox and I didn't have to turn it on to see it. I suppose AI and lying go hand in hand.

To provide a little more helpful feedback about my experience, the key combination that's used to open the sidebar will automatically enable the AI sidebar. This is a problem, as I've already bound that key combination to a function in one of my addons.
Negative behavior: I uncheck the option, hit the ctrl-alt-X combo, and the sidebar opens and the option re-checks itself.
Expected behavior: If I uncheck the option, I don't want to use it, and the key combination remains available.
