Not sure if this is the correct place, but hey, I'll give it a shot.
The 'New tab' feedback pop-up has autofocus, actually moving the focus away from the URL bar. So whenever the feedback pop-up has been triggered, a common user interaction fails: using a keyboard shortcut for a new tab (Cmd + T) and to start typing a URL or search query. These actions will fail to do anything other than focus on the feedback pop-up of the 'New Tab' web page. Very frustrating.

Hello
I'm not sure i understood correctly
Unless i'm mistaken, you want to open a new tab and not give focus to the new tab?
Maybe and if you wish to study Tab Mix Plus https://github.com/onemen/TabMixPlus

No, not at all. It's just a small issue with the default "Firefox New Tab" page.
