History seems to be repeating itself at mozilla. Years back a head developer who seemed to have a lot of influence convinced mozilla to move to a rapid rollout model for updates. In the process they ignored the 3rd party developers and let them fall where they may. The consequences of that move was catastrophic for the mozilla firefox project, 3rd party developers simply stop developing for firefox and focused on chrome development, as a result there was a loss of equal extension options between chrome and firefox and many users began to abandon firefox. I've noticed recently that the project is returned back to a rapid rollout model, this post should act as a reminder of the consequences of this approach.
