Yesterday 5/16/24 beta update 126.ob3 was installed.
It is a disaster, Many of the functions of earlier versions are missing:
Being able to change how the email data is displayed, previously it was split screen.
Takes 3 options to delete an email header in Cards view.
Only 3 folders listed under mail account.
Address book contents missing.
So it would be nice to be able to remove the update easily.

What you describe doesn't sound like any of the changes that occurred between 126.0b2 and 126.0b3, which are only https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?bug_id=1886653%2C1892074&list_id=17028763
What OS are you on?

My PC Is on Windows 10 22H2 (os build 19045.4291)all updates installed.
I did get a message that profile was at a different version so I recreated it yesterday using the procedure I found on the net. Might something have gone wrong then?
I did get passwords restored from an earlier version.
In doing that I noticed there is only 1 profile in the profiles folder.
And if it's the profile How do I correct it

Thunderbird Beta was just updated to 126.ob3 and now emails open in new windows and not in split screen.
How about an option to do just that 'Open in split screen" as before?

What you are describing is a problem, which you began at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/uninstall-thunderbird-beta-126-ob3-update/td-p/56971. For efficiency I am merging this posting back to that discussion.

This is either a problem with your profile or a bug. I say this because 126.0b3 has only two bug fixes https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?bug_id=1886653%2C1892074&list_id=17029139 neither of which should have caused the change you described.
Check your settings to see if messages is set to open in a tab, or a new window.

Option was set to "A new tab" from "an existing window"
The setting to new tab is not like a split screen mode, Which Thunderbird was doing before that update????
If the problem is in the PROFILE how do I fix it????
I appreciate your answers

No idea what you mean by split screen. There is no such feature name in Thunderbird. Perhaps you mean View set to vertical. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/getting-started-thunderbird-main-window-supernova

If it was really caused by 126.0b3, try reinstalling 126.0b2 https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/126.0b2/win64/en-US/Thunderbird%20Setup%20126.0b2.e...

By split screen, means that when opening an email, the data is displayed directly below the email headers. Vertical view does not do this.
I have downloaded 126.0b2. If I install it over 0b3 will i lose my existing emails and address book, etc.
Thanks

Please refer to the View > Layout for the proper name.

Sorry about the terminology.
View> Layout>vertical Does almost what I was looking for but is there a way to do it without the Tabs?
And is my data preserved if I install 126.0b2 over 126.0b3?
