After I installed Thunderbird 115, I had no scroll bar when the number of messages or the preview of a message exceeded the vertical space. I discovered that the scroll bar appears if the overall Thunderbird window is wide enough. Anything less and the scroll bar is not there. I couldn't make the scroll bar appear by shrinking the message columns or the folder pane. Seems like the scroll bars should have priority.
