Mozilla Connect heading size

What's with the huge amount of purple at the top of every page on Connect? It doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to make the "Search" area take up far to much of my screen. When getting important content "above the fold" is so important, surely this could be slimmed down a little to make the actual ideas and discussions more important!

The Upper RightHand corner, "Options:" menu, should be integrated, iconically, into the Connect GUI.

The Mozilla connect Header, takes up WAY-TOO-MUCH space...
one should be able to see the header, the suggested control-icon-menu, and most of the messages, on one or at most 2 screens of information !
