Bookmarks on the home page

I preferred Opera to FF because of the freedom I had with bookmarks on the home page.
I don't understand why FF limits me to four rows of bookmarks; why not infinite?
Also, it is very annoying that FF turns every page I visit into a bookmark.  So you limit bookmarks to four rows and fill them up in one day of using the internet? Idiotic.
Lastly, I have a craigslist bookmark, but FF has made me ANOTHER bookmark, "fresno.craigslist," but FF won't let me dismiss it, and deleting history does nothing.  Every time I try to dismiss the bookmark FF forced on me, the bookmark shakes.

Is this about customize items on your Firefox New Tab page
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-items-on-firefox-new-tab-page

Try
https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/firefox-home-screen-shortcuts-more-rows-please/idc-p/33028/high... browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRow

Other information
Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_how-do-i-find-my-prof...

prefs.js
user_pref("browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRows",
user_pref("browser.newtabpage.pinned",

Configuration Editor for Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox
Search browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRows
Search browser.newtabpage.pinned

You can edit (pencil icon) browser.newtabpage.pinned and copy the content and save (from time to time to your convenience) into a file (a backup) in case, if one day, if the need arises, then you have a backup to copy in browser.newtabpage.pinned

Thank you!

I tried entering "0" to see if it would accept that as infinite, but it zeroed out my book marks, so I entered 100. It accepted 100, but I have not tested it with a 100 bookmarks. Yet. 😁
I still can not delete that belligerent "fresno.craigslist" bookmark that I never created, though.
